Community Health Worker Program
The TTC College Community Health Worker (CHW) Academy is an eight-course training program designed to prepare students for entry-level Community Health Worker roles within behavioral health, public health, social services, and community-based care systems.
This program provides foundational knowledge, practical skill development, and ethical grounding aligned with emerging California and national CHW core competency frameworks, including the C3 (Community Health Worker Core Consensus) model. Coursework emphasizes real-world application while remaining adaptable to evolving state and federal workforce standards.
Students progress through eight structured courses that build competency across the full scope of CHW practice, including community engagement, care coordination, documentation, communication, advocacy, cultural humility, ethics, and workforce readiness.
The CHW Academy is delivered in an asynchronous online format, allowing students to complete coursework on a flexible schedule while engaging in guided learning activities, applied exercises, and competency-based assessments.
